A Letter from the Founder

Serve the servants... oh no

One baby to another says

I'm lucky to've met you

Dear Yield Farming Community,

Greetings! My name is Benjamin, but you can call me Carlos. I have been in crypto since the 2013-2014 cycle, and it now constitutes an unhealthily large percentage of my personality. I was fascinated by early crypto systems that involved distribution via staking, masternodes, and Bitcoin holder airdrops, and so you could say I’ve been yield farming since before it was even called by that name.

The fact that I have held major cryptocurrencies continuously since 2014 has brought me some success, but the connections with the people I have met in crypto have generated far more lucrative opportunities than anything else. Through online friends and communities, I have had the deals of a lifetime simply dumped on my plate. Engaging in the “New Wave of DeFi,” which is unfortunately heavy on exploits and theft, is not safe or easy without strong community guidance and support.

I have had many thoughtful discussions with members of the yield farming community, who have communicated to me that above all else, yield farmers simply need more opportunities that are not utter scams. People want farms based on well-vetted code that will not surprise them. They also want better metrics in terms of farms' allocation of funds. People have seen too many farm developers run away with the whole deposit fee, leaving investors to pick the pennies up off the floor, and they are sick and tired of it. Even when the outcome is not that dramatic, it has occurred to me as someone who runs an IRL business that many farm developers are taking an extremely greedy operating profit margin. Farmers pay developers fortunes in deposit fees, and they deserve more accountability in return.

One other thing farmers need is a more stable token supply when farming begins. I have seen too many people purchase farm tokens with very low supplies (and therefore high prices and APRs) but high emission rates before farming begins, only to be surprised when their tokens drop in price because of the extremely rapid emissions once farming starts. Therefore, farm creators sometimes feel torn between flashing high initial APRs to attract investment and having the supply stability that would protect liquidity providers. In the end, it seems superior to have a larger amount of tokens in existence initially relative to the emission rate in order to provide a buffer to liquidity providers.

I concluded that the steps to address these problems with a new farm would be quite straightforward. Instead of running away with the deposit fees, we can spend 60% of them on buybacks/burns. Instead of having a “fair launch” that is overrun by bots or a tiny initial supply that fails to protect early liquidity providers, we can constitute a larger early liquidity pool by having a small, exclusive presale. Especially in light of the general lack of good farming opportunities available, these steps combined with a highly aggressive marketing approach seem likely to create an excellent farming experience for everyone involved. We decided to call the farm PolyWantsACracker and decided on the theme to test a form of appeal that has not yet been tried, and to target a desirable age group for marketing purposes.

Zooming out, before deciding to release PolyWantsACracker, my co-creator Wojak and I had been working together for almost 3 months designing some revolutionary features that will now be implemented in the second layer. We can’t wait to bring you these features, but we decided that it would be best to introduce ourselves to you on a smaller scale initially. We want to prove our trustworthiness and gain a following so that the extreme advantages of our second layer’s reinvented features can reach the proper audience.

Therefore, PolyWantsACracker’s LITHIUM token will serve as a bridge to our second layer: we are going to provide a swap interface where you can trade in LITHIUM for fully functional Layer 2 tokens. Furthermore, we will be releasing previews of the second layer’s features throughout PolyWantsACracker’s farming period to get everyone excited about the upcoming products.

Thank you for considering joining us on this journey. We really appreciate your participation!

Best Regards,

B (Carlos)

Bye bye

Good night

See ya!
